Are you tired of waiting days for a simple repair? Or maybe you’ve had enough of unreliable handymen who show up late (or not at all)? At Comfort Life, we know how frustrating it is to juggle home repairs, especially with Dubai’s busy lifestyle. That’s why we offer fast, honest, and professional handyman services—so you can get back to what matters.
No two homes (or offices) are the same, but some jobs always pop up. Here’s what our Dubai handymen do best:
Live in Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown, Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, or anywhere else in Dubai? We’ve got you covered. Our handymen travel citywide, so you get help wherever you call home.
Handyman work is charged by the hour, and the rate is the same rate shown in the online booking system. There is no call-out fee on top and no charge for looking at the job first.
| Service | Price | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Drilling and hanging (hourly) | AED 109 | TV brackets, shelves, mirrors, curtain rails, paintings, wall units |
| Furniture installation (hourly) | AED 109 | Flat-pack assembly, wardrobes, beds, desks, dismantling and reassembly |
| Door lock repairing (hourly) | AED 109 | Sticking locks, handle replacement, latch and strike plate adjustment |
| Carpenter (hourly) | AED 120 | Cabinet and drawer repair, hinges, wardrobe doors, timber fixes |
| Multi technician (hourly) | AED 120 | Mixed job list that crosses more than one trade in a single visit |
| Aluminium door and window lock repair | AED 150 | Sliding and hinged aluminium units, rollers, handles, locking mechanisms |
Materials are separate. If a bracket, hinge, screw set or lock is needed, the technician tells you what it costs before fitting it, and you are free to supply your own. If your list crosses more than one trade, the multi technician option is usually the cheaper route than booking two separate visits.
The most common question is whether a job is a one hour booking or more. This is what our technicians typically complete on site.
| Job | Typical Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hang 3 to 5 pictures or mirrors | 30 to 45 minutes | Depends on wall type and whether anchors are needed |
| Mount a TV on the wall | 45 to 75 minutes | Longer if cables need concealing |
| Fit curtain rails in one room | 30 to 45 minutes | Two windows usually fit in the same hour |
| Assemble a wardrobe | 90 to 180 minutes | Flat-pack wardrobes are the longest common job |
| Assemble a bed frame | 45 to 90 minutes | Storage beds with gas lifts take longer |
| Adjust or replace a door lock | 30 to 45 minutes | Aluminium sliding doors take longer than timber |
| Fix a sagging cabinet or wardrobe door | 20 to 40 minutes | Usually a hinge adjustment, not a replacement |
More hanging jobs go wrong because of the wall than because of the bracket, and Dubai homes have three wall types that behave completely differently.
Solid concrete is what you find on structural walls and most external walls. It holds anything, but it needs a hammer drill and the correct masonry anchor. A standard plastic plug in concrete will pull out under load, which is how TVs end up on the floor.
Block and plaster is the most common internal partition. It drills easily, which is exactly the danger, because it feels solid while giving very little grip. Heavy items need the right sleeve anchor spread across a wider area rather than one plug per screw.
Gypsum board partitions and false ceilings are hollow. Nothing heavy should ever hang from the board itself. The fixing has to either land on the metal stud behind it or use a proper cavity anchor rated for the weight. A gypsum wall will happily hold a picture and will not hold a 55 inch television.
The other thing worth checking before any drill touches the wall is what is behind it. Concealed water pipes and electrical conduits run through bathroom and kitchen walls, and near switches or sockets the conduit is usually directly above or below. Our technicians check first and change the fixing point rather than risk it.
Flat-pack furniture is the single most booked handyman job in Dubai, largely because people move apartments often and because the instructions rarely match how long the job actually takes.
A few things make the visit go faster. Unpack the boxes before the technician arrives and check the parts against the list, because a missing panel discovered halfway through costs you the whole booking. Decide where the piece is going first, since assembling a wardrobe in the wrong room usually means dismantling it. Keep the fittings bag closed until the technician opens it; loose screws that roll under a sofa are a surprisingly common delay.
We also handle dismantling and reassembly for moves, which is worth booking as one job rather than two. Wardrobes and bed frames that have been taken apart once often need replacement cam fittings on reassembly, and it is cheaper to bring those on the first visit than to schedule a second.
Door problems in Dubai fall into a few repeatable patterns.
Timber doors that stick usually have nothing wrong with the lock. Humidity swells the door and the fix is planing or hinge adjustment rather than a new handle. Doors that stopped closing after a paint job are almost always paint build-up on the strike plate.
Aluminium sliding doors and windows are the more involved job, which is why they are priced separately. The failure is nearly always the rollers rather than the lock. Sand and grit work into the track, the rollers wear flat, and the door starts dragging until the locking point no longer lines up. Cleaning the track and replacing the rollers restores the alignment, and forcing the lock in the meantime only bends the mechanism.
If you are locked out of your own property, that is a different job to a lock repair and needs to be handled with proof of occupancy. Tell us on the phone so the right technician and the right approach are sent.
The most efficient way to use a handyman is to save small jobs into a list rather than calling for each one. A single hour covers a surprising amount when the technician is already on site with tools out, and the travel and setup time is spent once instead of three times.
Write the list room by room rather than by trade, because that is the order the work will actually happen in. Put the item you care about most at the top. Mention anything that needs a specific part so it can be brought on the first visit. And if two of the jobs are in different trades, say so when booking, because the multi technician option exists exactly for that and avoids a second call-out.
Being straight about the limits saves everyone a wasted visit.
Where a job falls outside handyman scope, the technician tells you at the walkthrough rather than starting and stopping. In many cases we have the right specialist available and can book that visit for you directly.
Slots run from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening, seven days a week including public holidays. Same day service is usually available if you book before midday, and evening slots exist for people who cannot be home during the day.
Payment is taken after the work is done, not in advance. Cash, card on site, and Tabby in four interest free instalments are all accepted. If something we fixed fails in the same way shortly after, tell us and we will come back to it.
